Benefits of ERP + BI in SME's

Lets start of with a few definitions from Wikipedia for those that are new to all the acronyms used above (all taken from Wikipedia)

 

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) integrates internal and external management information across an entire organization, embracing finance/accounting, manufacturing, sales and service, etc. ERP systems automate this activity with an integrated computer-based application. Its purpose is to facilitate the flow of information between all business functions inside the boundaries of the organization and manage the connections to outside stakeholder

 

Business intelligence (BI) refers to computer-based techniques used in spotting, digging-out, and analyzing business data, such as sales revenue by products and/or departments, or by associated costs and incomes.

 

In 2009 Aberdeen Group compiled a report that looked at the benefits of implementing ERP and BI in SME's. With the introduction of Openbravo 3.0, the new workspace concept and integration with eintelCRM dashlets and Jasper Reports this is worth reading and potential savings by implementing a cost effective and open ERP/CRM and BI System.
